Here's How To Find Them

Google Maps is great for lots of things – finding new restaurants, saving new places, and even finding the cheapest gas station near you. Here’ show you find gasoline prices in Google Maps.

Gasoline prices are a little crazy right now. Where I currently live I’m looking at around $6.50 a gallon. This means that whenever I go to fill up, it’s best to know exactly where the best prices are at that time. Luckily, Google Maps isn’t just good for finding new restaurants and places to ride your bike. There’s also a handy gas prices feature in Google Maps, which lets you view current prices and where they are.

How to Find Gas Prices in Google Maps

Google Maps is cross-platform, which means you can use it on most devices. On all these devices, the functionality is pretty much the same – this especially applies to the “Gas” function. Here’s how to use it on your device.

On Android or iOS

On Android and iOS devices, it’s very easy to search for gasoline in your area.

  1. Open Google Maps on your device.
  2. Push the button Gas tile at the top, below the search bar.
  3. Your appliance will automatically search for gas in your area. You can move to a new area and press Search in this area to find gasoline prices further.
  4. To change the settings, you can press the icon preferences slider at the top, below the search bar. Choose opening hours and special filters, like wheelchair accessibility.
  5. Faucet Apply.

From here you can look around the area you selected and tap on any gas station on the map for more information. Not all gas stations display prices, so you may need to scroll through the available ones from the bottom. After choosing one and tapping it, you can either get directions, call, or share it further. If you have a gas station in mind, you can always search for that station and tap on it to bring up the list. From this list you can also see the price.

Tip: If you press Show listyou can better compare gasoline prices.

It’s a fantastic tool for everyone, even if gas isn’t $6.50 in your area. We often overlook the features built right into the apps we use all the time, and this is one feature that often gets overlooked. So the next time you go, give the gas price feature a view on Google Maps. You might be surprised to find better prices that you didn’t know about.
